​​​ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

​TIFFANY ELLIS is a documentary filmmaker with interests in dance, music, sport and culture around the world. She has produced documentary shorts for clients around the world, including Nike, National Indigenous Television of Australia, the University of Florida Center for Latin American Studies and the American Dance Festival. She has extensive experience working with indigenous communities, gathering oral histories and leading filmmaking workshops with Australian Aboriginal communities across Queensland and Western Australia and served as Post Production Supervisor on award-winning PBS Independent Lens documentary Na Kamalei: The Men of Hula.
 
She holds a BA in Film Production and History from Occidental College and an MS in Visual Anthropology from Oxford University. THIS IS TIM: A Musical Life marks her feature film directorial debut, which celebrates the life and legacy of her father Tim Ellis, the renowned guitarist, recording studio owner and 2016 Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee.
